OBCT Workshop - Anti Discrimination - Anti Harassment Course Review

By Kate Walsh and Shavanni Singh

The Ontario Building and Construction Tradeswomen (OBCT) has developed a FREE anti-discrimination and anti-harassment (ADAH) training program for union representatives, and construction workers in Ontario. Time to Change – Time to Talk was themed and created to bring awareness to stigmas and biases within the construction work environment, while educating workers about discrimination, harassment, mental health and more.  Our goal is to make harassment training a mandatory requirement for construction sites in Ontario to create an inclusive and safe workplace.

This course has been developed in draft form and this workshop is intended for tradeswomen attending the PBCTCO Convention. Tradeswomen will receive a preview of the course and are asked to provide feedback/insight on the module themes and concepts before it is rolled out and made available across the province. The feedback and participation of tradeswomen in this process is crucial to the success of this training and our team appreciates your participation in this course development.
